China now has the world’s second-largest defense budget

"China now has the world’s second-largest defense budget after the United States and the fastest growing military market."

"If the People’s Liberation Army went to war tomorrow, it would field an arsenal bristling with hardware from some of America’s closest allies: Germany, France and Britain."

Paid for by American consumers buying cheap Chinese products at their local Wal-mart.

As if you needed another reason not to buy Chinese

The U.S. has promised $20 million in aid for victims of Supertyphoon Haiyan in the Philippines and has mobilized an aircraft carrier for the relief effort. Britain is also sending a warship and has pledged $16 million. The Vatican is dispatching $4 million, Japan $10 million and New Zealand $1.7 million. And China, the world’s most populous nation and second largest economy?
It’s handing over $100,000.

Why Buy American?

With this blog I hope to encourage Americans to begin taking actions that will create more jobs in the United States.  This can happen if we, whenever possible, buy American made products instead of those produced overseas.

The benefits of producing and buying our own products goes far beyond creating jobs.  It is beneficial to our environment when we do not ship so many products via cargo tankers or air transport.  When we buy American made products we also have better control over where our money is going.  Many countries, such as China, use the money we spend on their products to build up their military and to spy on us.  When you buy American products you can also rest assured that you are not supporting child labor and poor working conditions.

In this blog I will be adding news stories about the benefits of buying American.  I will also start adding the names of products made in the United States.  Even if they are slightly more expensive than products made overseas, you can have the satisfaction of knowing that you are saving American jobs.
